Services trade deficit rises to $1.739 billion, up 13.73% from last year’s $1.529 billion.
Pakistan’s services exports grew by 16.51% during the first half of fiscal year 2025-26, reaching $4.764 billion compared to $4.089 billion in the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The services imports also saw a rise of 15.75%, reaching $6.504 billion, up from $5.619 billion in the first half of the previous year. This resulted in a services trade deficit of $1.739 billion, marking a 13.73% increase compared to last year’s deficit of $1.529 billion.
On a monthly basis, services exports in December 2025 showed a 15.94% year-on-year increase, rising to $935 million from $806 million in December 2024. Meanwhile, imports of services surged by 23.90%, reaching $1.308 billion compared to $1.056 billion in December 2024.
On a month-to-month comparison, December 2025 exports were up by 15.84% from $807 million in November 2025, while imports increased by 34.39% from $973 million in November 2024.
