The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 21,668 new companies during the first half of the current fiscal year 2025-26.
The number of new registrations marks a 29 percent increase compared with 16,839 companies incorporated in the corresponding period last year. The newly registered firms brought paid-up capital of Rs. 30.7 billion, taking the total number of companies registered with the SECP to 279,724.
The IT and e-commerce sector led new incorporations with 4,277 companies. Trading followed with 2,997 new companies, while the services sector recorded 2,686 registrations.
Real estate and construction-related companies accounted for 2,031 new registrations during the period.
Foreign investment also remained visible, with 731 foreign investors injecting paid-up capital of Rs. 1.26 billion into newly incorporated companies.
Chinese investors accounted for the largest share of foreign investment, contributing around 71 percent of the total foreign inflows.
