Pakistan’s national space agency, SUPARCO, will unveil its innovative ‘Sky Clinic’ telemedicine system at the ITCN Asia 2025 technology exhibition, scheduled to be held in Karachi from September 23 to 25. The solution has been developed to improve health care accessibility in remote and underserved regions of the country.
The portable telemedicine terminal is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, vital signs monitoring devices, and real-time consultation features, allowing patients in hard-to-reach areas to connect directly with doctors. The system is supported by PakSat MM1, Pakistan’s multi-mission communication satellite, ensuring secure and high-speed connectivity even in geographically challenging regions.

According to officials, the Sky Clinic can be rapidly deployed, integrates seamlessly with electronic health records, and provides nationwide coverage. Its design emphasizes portability, user-friendliness, and uninterrupted service delivery, making it a practical model for extending medical services to areas lacking traditional health infrastructure.
Launched in May 2024 with Chinese assistance, PakSat MM1 became fully operational in October the same year. Beyond supporting telemedicine, SUPARCO has been actively contributing to disaster management, flood monitoring, crop yield assessment, urban development, and climate-related research through its satellite data.
The agency described the Sky Clinic as a comprehensive solution that redefines health service delivery for marginalized communities, inviting visitors and technology professionals to explore the system at ITCN Asia 2025 and experience how space-based innovation is reshaping healthcare in Pakistan.
