Karachi Police Launch Faceless E-Challan Campaign

Karachi Traffic Police, in partnership with Lok Suhayta, has rolled out a citywide campaign to raise awareness about road safety and the upcoming faceless e-challan system.

A spokesperson for the Traffic Police explained that the initiative is aimed at educating citizens on the importance of obeying traffic regulations and familiarizing them with the new automated ticketing mechanism.

Beginning October 1, 2025, the faceless e-challan system will officially take effect. Violations will be detected through high-tech surveillance cameras installed across Karachi, and digital challans, supported with photographic or video proof, will be delivered directly to violators’ residences. This process eliminates personal interference and ensures a fully transparent and evidence-based enforcement model.

As part of the awareness drive, pamphlets are being distributed at major intersections and traffic signals. Volunteers, female constables, and students from educational institutions are also assisting officers in informing the public about road safety and the significance of following traffic rules.

“This system ensures fairness and accountability—on your journey, Karachi Traffic Police is your companion,” the spokesperson added.

Authorities believe the new mechanism will create a safer, more disciplined traffic environment, while also reducing opportunities for corruption and arbitrary enforcement. The campaign is being hailed as a major step toward transforming Karachi into a more organized and law-abiding city.
