Food exports reached a total value of 5.17 billion dollars.
In the first eight months of the current fiscal year, food exports saw a 4.17% increase, totaling 5.17 billion dollars. According to the statistics department, food exports during July to February amounted to 5.17 billion dollars, marking an increase of 20.29 million dollars compared to last year. Basmati rice exports rose by 11.23%, reaching a total value of 600 million dollars.
The report indicates that a total of 2.48 billion dollars worth of rice was exported in the eight-month period, and Pakistan exported sugar worth 406.9 million dollars between July and February. Sugar exports saw a significant increase of 1831% compared to the previous year.
The report also highlighted a 0.75% increase in fish exports, which amounted to 263.5 million dollars. Tobacco exports grew by 106%, reaching 124.8 million dollars.
However, the exports of fruits, vegetables, pulses, spices, and oilseeds saw a decrease.
