January services exports rise 31.12% to $885 million year-on-year, while SBP shows telecom, computer, information services at $2.61 billion in 7MFY26
Pakistan’s services exports increased 18.78% year-on-year to $5.66 billion in the first seven months of FY2025-26, with higher earnings from information technology-related services leading the rise, according to official data.
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data shows services exports in July to January FY26 rose from $4.76 billion in the same period last year. The growth came as the services sector continued to post increases through most of FY26, unlike goods exports, which have shown mixed movement.
Monthly figures showed year-on-year growth of 18.27% in July, 8.41% in August, 14.85% in September, 17.61% in October, 22.26% in November, 15.94% in December and 31.12% in January.
In rupee terms, services exports rose 20.22% to Rs 1.593 trillion in July-January FY26 from Rs 1.325 trillion a year earlier, the PBS data showed.
Services exports in January stood at $885.09 million, up from $675.03 million in January last year. On a month-on-month basis, January exports were down 6.34%, the data showed.
For FY2024-25, services exports increased 9.23% to $8.39 billion from $7.68 billion in the preceding year. The data shows services exports have generally trended higher since February 2024, with an exception in August 2024 when exports declined 6.50%.
State Bank of Pakistan data shows exports of telecommunications, computer and information services reached $2.61 billion in July-January FY26, up 19.72% from $2.18 billion in the same period last year.
