Wellhead flowing pressure recorded at 1,725 psi from the Lower Goru C-Sand reservoir.
Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) on Thursday announced a fresh gas and condensate discovery at its Dars West-3 well in Tando Allah Yar, Sindh, producing 9.70 MMSCFD of gas along with 580 barrels per day of condensate, strengthening Pakistan’s indigenous energy resource base.
According to the company, the well was drilled to a total depth of 2,100 metres and tested using OGDCL’s in-house technical expertise. During the test, Dars West-3 produced 9.70 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas along with 580 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate at a choke size of 36/64 inches.
OGDCL further stated that the wellhead flowing pressure was recorded at 1,725 psi from the Lower Goru C-Sand reservoir, reflecting strong reservoir performance and supporting the commercial viability of the discovery.
The company termed the results “encouraging,” noting that the discovery reinforces the hydrocarbon prospectivity of the Lower Goru Formation and further strengthens OGDCL’s portfolio of domestic oil and gas resources.
OGDCL said pipeline laying work is already underway to connect the Dars West-3 well with the KPD-TAY processing plant. Once completed, the produced gas will be processed and injected into the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network, which is expected to contribute additional volumes to the national gas supply system.
The company also disclosed that the Dars West Development and Production Lease (D&PL) is being operated by OGDC with a 77.5 percent working interest, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) holds the remaining 22.5 percent share.
