Lahore is Getting a Theme Park

A feasibility study for a new theme park in Lahore worth Rs 200 million has been approved by the Punjab government.

The decision was taken during a Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) meeting chaired by Planning & Development Board Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf on Friday. The meeting approved seven major development projects across tourism, IT, roads, and minority affairs with a combined value of Rs 5.118 billion.

Among the tourism-focused projects, the PDWP also cleared feasibility studies for:

  • Sky Walk Glass Bridge in Murree (Rs 72.152 million)
  • Chairlift & Cable Car from Lakot to Pindi Point, Murree (Rs 90 million)
  • Cable Car at River Indus, Kala Bagh, Mianwali (Rs 81.571 million)

Other initiatives include the construction of a road from Danda Shah Bilawal to Ghool via Lawa, Chakwal (Rs 1.374 billion), the Chief Minister’s Minority Development Programme (Rs 1 billion), and the Accelerate Punjab Startups Tech Programme (Rs 2.3 billion).

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Secretary P&D Board Rafaqat Ali, Secretary Tourism Raja Jahangir, Secretary Minorities Affairs Farid Ahmad, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, and members of the P&D Board.
