Pakistan’s software exports crossed $1.01 billion during July–May FY25, up 27.4 percent from $793 million in the same period last year, according to the State Bank of Pakistan.
This is the first time software exports alone have exceeded $1 billion in 11 months.
Total IT and IT-enabled services (ITeS) exports reached $3.47 billion in the period. Software consultancy contributed the largest share at 29.1 percent.
Computer software exports stood at $534 million, call center services at $298 million, and telecom services at $199 million.
Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam said software consultancy is the IT sector’s core strength.
Pakistan is projected to close FY25 with IT and ITeS exports nearing $3.85–$3.9 billion, slightly below the $4 billion target, likely due to internet disruptions.
