Pakistan’s cement exports soar to $287.9 million in first 11 months of FY2024-25

Pakistan’s cement exports have seen strong growth during the first eleven months of the fiscal year 2024-25, rising by 21.6 percent compared to the same period last year, according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data. The export value reached $287.946 million, up from $236.797 million in the previous year.

In terms of volume, cement exports increased by 29.67 percent, climbing from 6.18 million metric tons to over 8 million metric tons between July and May. This rise highlights growing demand for Pakistani cement in international markets.

May 2025 alone recorded a 6.15 percent year-on-year increase in cement exports, with shipments valued at $34.236 million compared to $32.251 million in May 2024. Furthermore, exports jumped 44.8 percent from April to May 2025, showing a positive month-on-month trend.

Overall, Pakistan’s total exports grew by 5.15 percent during the same period, reaching $29.564 billion, up from $28.117 billion the previous year. This growth reflects improving trade performance despite global economic challenges.

However, imports also rose by 7.5 percent, increasing from $49.815 billion to $53.550 billion during the first eleven months of the current fiscal year. The trade gap remains a concern for the country’s economy.

With cement exports playing a key role in boosting Pakistan’s trade figures, industry experts urge continued focus on enhancing production quality and expanding export markets to sustain this upward trend.
